With an impressive 37 years in the HVAC industry, Ben McCullough brings a wealth of hands-on and leadership experience to his role as General Manager of VAE New Zealand. Ben began his journey as an apprentice and steadily progressed through the ranks—technician, senior technician, project manager, and construction manager—before taking the reins of VAE’s New Zealand operations. His deep understanding of the industry is built on a strong technical foundation, extensive site experience, and an unwavering focus on delivering quality outcomes.
Ben’s career includes a 2.5-year international stint with York International in London between 1998–2000, adding global perspective to his extensive project delivery skills. Since joining VAE in 2012, he has led some of the most complex and high-profile projects across New Zealand and the Pacific, including the Christchurch Acute Services Building, Waikeria Prison Development, and Star Mountain Plaza in PNG. A qualified project and engineering professional, Ben is known for his ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and deliver technically challenging projects safely, on time, and on budget—all while upholding VAE’s commitment to Built in Certainty.
