The Project

The FKG Group awarded VAE the mechanical services contract for the Atherton Hospital Redevelopment in 2019. The redevelopment provides a new purpose-built Clinical Services Building (CSB), a new Community Allied and Mental Health Building (CAMHB), new engineering services building, re-location of the helipad, onsite car parking works, internal road upgrades and external infrastructure upgrades. The project is being delivered over two stages, with stage one completed, and stage two currently underway.
The new CSB on Louise Street is home to the Emergency Department, Medical Imaging, Maternity and Birthing, Operating and Endoscopy theatre and Sterilisation Unit and the new CAMHB being constructed on Jack Street will provide outpatient facilities, allied health and mental health services. VAE are undertaking the supply and installation of the heating and cooling (HVAC) equipment providing the Atherton Hospital with modern energy efficient mechanical services. We are delivering the project from our Cairns branch team providing local employment opportunities to the Cairns and Atherton Tablelands community. Image Source © Lovegreen Photography
