The Project

The key requirement for this project involved VAE replacing air handling units (AHUs) in the control towers in both the Brisbane and Cairns airports with minimal disruption and without loss of conditions in the Air Services Australia operations room and the associated equipment room
VAE understood that it was crucial that the air handling units were replaced with minimal disruption and without any loss of conditions in the operations rooms. To achieve this we developed strict removal and installation procedures that were approved by Air Services Australia. This included breaking down the AHUs so they could be transported up the building via the life and reassembled on site. Our team also organised the disassembly of existing units and the reassembly of new units which minimised downtime while crucially maintaining conditions.
