The Project

VAE Group were awarded the mechanical services on the James Cook University (JCU) Student Accommodation Building, located adjacent to the future Technology Innovation Complex on the Townsville Campus by Hutchinson Builders late in 2020.
The seven-storey accommodation complex, when completed, will house more than 400 students in contemporary, affordable accommodation. The 10,000 sqm building includes: Study bedrooms in group share configurations, ensuited bedrooms, high quality communal facilities and centralised self-catered master chef kitchen and dining space. The JCU Townsville Student Accommodation project is targeting a LEEDS Gold Sustainability rating. VAE are excited to be working with Hutchies in Townsville once again, following the successful completion of the Cowboys Community, Training and High-Performance Centre.
