Our goal is to provide ‘Built in Certainty’ for our clients though our extensive in-house Design, Engineering and Drafting expertise.
Our Project delivery team includes Project Managers, Design Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Design Draftspersons, and our own certified in-house Commissioning Engineers and technicians.
Together with our valued suppliers and subcontractors VAE’s construction methodology means that we provide our customers with a complete whole of life cycle approach from initial construction installation, through commissioning and tuning to long term maintenance of buildings.
VAE has rigorous processes to validate our subcontractors and suppliers including financial and organisational capability, technical ability, and record of accomplishment. Our process ensures that VAE’s ‘Built in Certainty’ is shared amongst our entire delivery team.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a 3D model-based digital design and documentation process providing the ability to coordinate, construct and manage buildings more efficiently. BIM allows more efficient and effective communication via access to and sharing of information, virtual modelling and collaboration between services trades.
VAE have comprehensive experience with providing Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D Drafting from design, to fabrication, to installation and commissioning.
In addition to our design deliverables, we can provide lead services coordination for our customers carried out by our own internal VAE Drafting teams located in both Australia and New Zealand.
Our drafting team are able to provide design drawings to a commercial level of detail (LOD) 400 as well as more complex deliverable standards to achieve LOD 500 as-built, including “as installed” scanning.
WE fully endorse the BIM-MEPAUS national ‘standard practice’ for BIM – specifically focusing on Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) services throughout the design, construction and operation of a building.
Our team is fully conversant on the following BIM tools :-
VAE have advanced the application of prefabrication of Mechanical Services throughout our projects in Australia and New Zealand over many years.
VAE pioneered large scale Mechanical Services prefabrication to the New Zealand market for the Christchurch Hospital Waipapa Building (formerly known as the Acute Services Building) incorporating the new standards of Seismic design into prefabricated modules, pioneering 3D design and prefabrication of risers and other elements into the market.
Since those early days we have progressed our D&C capabilities introducing the implementation of prefabrication to both horizontal and vertical multi-services modules, off-site prefabrication along with complete modular construction methods, and innovative seismic bracing design work for stringent compliance locations.
Our goal is to provide:-
Designing and engineering for pre-fabrication improves installation quality and reduces on site installation time.
VAE drafts in Revit and uses Navisworks for clash detection. This means that we use the same software as the architect and structural engineer on the project allowing for a more streamlined, efficient process.
We also include BIM Drafting for electrical contractors, hydraulic plumbing contractors and fire contractors.
With over 30 engineers and draftspeople on staff, we can design systems from scratch or work with a specialist consultant to provide our clients with cost-effective solutions.
Specialist Engineering Design focused on Gravity Load and Seismic Restraint. Includes full BIM Coordinated Design and certification
Designing and engineering for pre-fabrication improves installation quality and reduces on site installation time.
We ensure the right site manager for the project using the right methodology is assigned to each job. Each project is seen as a training opportunity for our employees allowing us to constantly improve our methodologies.
Having an in-house electrical team allows us to tackle more complicated customer problems while providing advice on electrical issues which may impact on energy costs.
VAE have our own commissioning team because we know if we are to provide certainty, then we need to be confident in the operation of the systems we install. We commission using CIBSE guidelines.
VAE is compliant with the National Construction Code and has a current EBA registered with the Fair Work Commission.
Due to our specialist knowledge in the HVAC space, VAE are able to assist our clients with solutions for difficult problems.
Our engineering strength and accredited NABERS assessors on staff, we also offer independent advice to our clients on building performance including ways that they can reduce costs.
