The new building features modern office spaces alongside Physical Containment Level 2 (PC2) animal and invertebrate laboratories. VAE was responsible for delivering the mechanical systems required to achieve PC2 certification, ensuring the laboratories met the stringent environmental performance, ventilation, and safety standards necessary for research operations.
As part of the project, VAE also installed a Niagara open-protocol Building Management System (BMS), providing centralised monitoring and control of the building’s mechanical services. This flexible platform enables efficient building operation, improved energy management, and supports the ongoing performance of the facility throughout its lifecycle.
